Field 530 is used to note the existence of one or more reproductions or versions in different physical formats. Information given in field 530 is usually taken from the original item. When a linking entry field is given in conjunction with field 530, it is tagged 776.

$u Uniform Resource Identifier

Subfield $u contains the Uniform Resource Identifier which provides electronic access data in a standard syntax. CONSER members have decided that use of this subfield in 5XX fields to duplicate information in the 856 field should be minimized because of maintenance concerns. Both the 5XX field $u and the 856 $u would need to be updated if the URI changed.
